Stately setting for salvage fair

The Decorative Home & Salvage Show takes place at Ripley Castle near Harrogate next month, with a wide range of traders from across Europe exhibiting decorative and architectural antiques, garden furniture and statuary.

Salvaged gates at Ripley fairKey items on offer at the show will include a lovingly preserved 18th century armoire, aged Swedish villa shutters, collections of salvaged stained glass and stacks of old cinema chairs.

Organisers of the event, Arthur Swallow Antique & Home Shows, said, “There will be everything from restored and up-cycled furniture, to period home fixtures and fittings, furnishings and industrial pieces. The DH&S Shows are popular with stylists, bloggers, interior designers, retail traders, architects, garden designers and discerning homemakers.”

Items at Ripley fairThe event features a shopping-avenue lined with white marquees, places to eat and a licensed bar. “The bonus to shopping like this is that there is time to stop and chat, consider what you’re buying, learn about its heritage and think strategically about how things could be used in your own setting.”

Ripley Castle is a spectacular 14th century stately home just outside Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, its beautiful location and surroundings is a great backdrop for the show.

The fair takes place from September 9th to 11th.
