Sparkling ring in jewellery sale
Birmingham auction house Fellows is to sell “one of the most alluring rings” they have had at auction in recent times – a platinum diamond single stone ring with an estimate of £150,000 to £200,000.
The solitaire ring weighs in at 5cts, stating the flawless D-colour, with VVS2 clarity. It is the epitome of ice, with a wide variety of Ceylon and Burma sapphire complimentary blue hues to choose from.
Elsewhere in the sale are two mid-20th century gold and silver, diamond and enamel 1939 Northolt racing brooches, depicting jockeys from the 1930s. There is also a selection of late Victorian reverse-carved intaglio dog brooches, and a Cartier section of the sale with a range of rings and bangles.
The Antique & Modern Jewellery sale takes place on November 9.
