Kutchinsky jewellery sparkles in Birmingham auction house
Eye-catching jewellery from the 1970s was a popular choice at Birmingham auction house Fellows recent sale, with examples from Kutchinsky reaching into the thousands.
Kutchinsky jewellery in demand
An 18ct gold coral and diamond Kutchinsky pendant fetched £2,900, while an elegant 18ct gold turquoise, sapphire and diamond bracelet from the 1960s sold for £5,000.
Elsewhere, a selection of earrings, an 18ct gold coral and diamond wristwatch, and an 18ct gold and diamond ring also fetched strong prices.
Other top lots in the sale included:
- An 18ct gold diamond single-stone ring, which sold for £30,000
- A mid-Victorian diamond necklace sold for £23,000
- A designer 18ct gold diamond Kelly ‘Double Tour’ bangle by Hermès sold for £14,000
Natural pearl jewellery
The auction also included examples of natural pearls, such as a single-strand necklace which sold for way above its estimate at £7,000, and an art deco platinum, natural pearl and diamond ring which sold for £2,900. An art deco natural pearl and diamond ring by Van Cleef & Arpels also sold for £4,000.
