Bridget Jones’s pizza van tops sale
With the release of the latest Bridget Jones film, Bridget Jones, Mad About The Boy, hitting cinema screens, the pizza van within which the protagonist is taken to hospital to have her baby in the earlier film Bridget Jones’s Baby is set to sell in Surrey.

Ewbank’s will offer the iconic 1987 Piaggio Ape 501 was imported by Universal Pictures (it was originally custard yellow) and then customised as a prop for the scene where Bridget, Mark Darcy and Gianni the driver are careering down Piccadilly Circus to get Bridget to hospital in time.
The ‘Ape’ was painted as Gianni’s pizza delivery three-wheel camionette scooter. The current vendor bought the Ape in June 2023 after it had spent seven years in dry store. They then imported a selection of original parts from Italy to complete its light restoration.
It has been in store once again for the past six months and now comes to the rostrum as Bridget Jones hits the headlines once more.
“Thousands have been spent on restoring the Ape, while keeping the integrity of the vehicle as it appeared as a prop in the film,” said Ewbank’s specialist Matt Groom.
The vehicle comes with a letter of provenance and the original import documentation. as well as a file of receipts of all the parts bought and work carried out.
The estimate is £10,000-12,000 in the sale on April 4.
