Run by the Bath Preservation Trust, the venue’s award is one of VisitEngland’s highest accolades for tourism businesses, which recognise a consistently high quality of visitor experience. Following a secret visit to the museum at an early stage in the process, a judge described No.1 Royal Crescent as: “A truly magical attraction that transports visitors back to the 1700s. The trail through the house tells a story of a fictional family, helping to engage visitors of all ages in the history of the property. It is clear that this small attraction delights all of its guests with its innovative interpretation and attention to detail.”

Alex Sherman, CEO of Bath Preservation Trust said: “This is a wonderful award which recognises the brilliant team who make No. 1 Royal Crescent such a special museum and gallery to visit. The beautiful historic house is unique and visitors can expect a warm welcome and a fascinating insight into how Georgian people would have lived. We are so grateful to VisitEngland for their recognition and support.”

No.1 Royal Crescent is open from Tuesday to Sunday every week. Visitors can experience the Georgian house, with original furnishings, paintings and decorative art, and a unique immersive experience. They can also visit the adjoining gift shop and a gallery that offers a changing programme of exhibitions. For further information, visit www.no1royalcrescent.org.uk.
