20th-century highlights at Petersfield fair
Petersfield Antiques Fair in Hampshire will showcase a range of 20th-century decorative arts next month, alongside more traditional antiques from regular exhibitors.
Fair organiser, Caroline Penman, said, “Collectors are interested more than ever in the Decorative Arts and it’s great to welcome several more specialists with fantastic stock.”
Forty leading art and antiques specialists will be showing at the fair, with 20th-century pieces from Sussex Art Deco specialist Jeroen Markies Antiques; Peter Jeff, specialist in 20th-century decorative arts; Hollywood-style costume jewellery specialists, Twentieth Century Glamour; and Not Wanted on Voyage with their 20th-century furniture and reclamation pieces.
Among other regular specialists will be furniture dealers Melody Antiques, Cantelo Antiques and Wilsons of Worthing. Jupiter Antiques return with a range of early English porcelain from most major factories, and Roger de Ville with rare Staffordshire and comemorative pottery.
Others include Eastdale Antiques specialising in fine silver; Art of the Imagination with contemporary illustrative art and sculpture; Graham Bentley Fine Watercolours showing English oils and watercolours; Lake’s specialising in interesting and unusual antique boxes and Mark J.West with 20th century glass.
Also new to this event will be Roger Lamb Antiques from Gloucestershire, with fine period furniture and decorative accessories; and J.Swan Fine Art from Hemswell Antiques Centre with 19th and 20th century oil and watercolour paintings.
The fair takes place from September 8 to 10.
