Eric Knowles hosts Hertfordshire valuation day

Antiques Roadshow regular and Antique Collecting magazine columnist, Eric Knowles, is to host the Antique Collective’s antiques and jewellery valuation day at their premises in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire on February 8.

The Collective was set up two years ago by Andy Roberts and Ryan Gisborne-Weare who are both local residents. The pair said that since opening the shop has gone from strength to strength, attracting antique hunters from all over the southeast and further afield.

Andy and Ryan said that they set up The Collective, which also has an online presence, because they saw a gap in the market in providing both sellers and buyers of antiques a “fair and honest appraisal and buying service”.

Ryan said: “We wanted to provide something that was just a little different. Many of the items that we see are family heirlooms and quite rightly, sellers need to be assured that they are getting an honest service and one where every angle is looked at to either buy the piece or work with the client and a suitable auction house.”

This approach to the business is why the team at the Collective, which includes support Megan, Emma and Micki, have linked up with antique expert Eric Knowles who lives only a few miles away.

Eric said: “The Antique Buying Collective offers an unrivalled platform for connecting sellers with experienced professionals who truly understand the value of their treasures. It’s a pleasure to work alongside such a dedicated team, ensuring that every piece finds its rightful place in the world of collectors and enthusiasts.”

Ryan said: “Anyone is welcome to bring items to our antiques valuation and buying day on February 8 and meet Eric and the team. No appointment is necessary. It will be a fun day for us and our customers, and if successful is something that we will run again.”

The valuation day opens at the shop 10am and closes at 4pm.
