Diana letters set to sell at Cheffins
A collection of letters and notes written by the late Princess Diana, alongside a piece of her wedding cake and various photos of the royal family, are to go under the hammer in Cambridge this week at Cheffins.
The letters were sent by Diana between 1984 to 1993 to Cyril Dickman who was head steward at Buckingham Palace for 50 years, becoming a clear favourite of the royals.
The letters give an intimate insight into Diana’s feelings towards her children, with such observations as: “William adores his little brother and spends the entire time swamping Harry with an endless supply of hugs and kisses, hardly letting the parents near!” Elsewhere she writes about Harry’s birth: “The reaction to one tiny person’s birth has totally overwhelmed us and I can hardly breathe for the mass of flowers that are arriving here!”
The letter, alongside others, is expected to reach between £400 to £600, although could easily go higher due to the global interest.
