Bath Decorative Fair teams up with market
Bath Decorative Antiques Fair, taking place from 2nd to 5th March, is to hold a one-day collaboration with the town’s popular vintage and antiques market, BathVA on Sunday 5th when both events are taking place.
As part of the day, a group of bloggers from www.martinimum.com will join one of the country’s most exciting young dealers and Antique Collecting columnist Edd Thomas of Edd in the Clouds at both events for a ‘Style Up Top Picks’. The tour will start at the Bath Decorative Fair, continuing in the afternoon at BathVA.
The tour will also be covered in real-time on social media and in the run up to the event. Edd, who is chairman of the Antiques Young Guns, will inspire visitors to look at antiques in a new way, including a ‘century mash up’ where antiques are mixed with contemporary and vintage pieces on sale at both fairs.
Other events at this year’s fair include an antiques industry celebrity tour on Friday 3rd March when ‘The Queen of Antiques’ Judith Miller will choose ‘Judith’s Top Picks for Collectors’. Again, the tour will be streamed on social media.
The contrast of the two tours confirms the diversity of the Bath Decorative Antiques Fair – part decorative antiques, ranging from painted furniture, to lighting, textiles, English and European pottery; and part super chic metropolitan style. Expect to see exquisite Folk Art rubbing shoulders with Falcon leather chairs, period portraits and Naive Art with c20th Modern & Contemporary Art.
Around 45 exhibitors attend the event, with well-known names such as No 1 Lewes, Chris Holmes Decorative Antiques, Not Wanted on Voyage and Candice Horley c20th Glamour.
They will be joined by some new names from across the UK, including Catherine Waters Antiques, Het Archief, Elizabeth Lee Antiques and Appledore Antiques.
We’ve pulled together just a few of the enticing items that visitors can expect to find.
