Will false teeth make buyers bite

A rare pair of false teeth are coming up for sale in Cheshire next month, with an estimate of £400 to £600 to snap them up.

Nantwich, Cheshire fine art auctioneers Peter Wilson is selling the teeth, which they describe as the “Rolls-Royce of false teeth”. Dating from the late 18th or early 19th century, auctioneer Nick Allsopp said he was struck dumb when he first saw them, and said, “their original owner was unavailable for comment!”

The teeth were made for a person of substance from real porcelain set in solid gold.
