Automobilia sale set to drive bids

A collection of automobilia and enamel advertising signs will go under the hammer in a Dorset sale in April.

Charterhouse Auctioneers will hold a specialist sale of automobilia on April 3, with items from the collection 30 years in the making set to be offered.

The owner, who lives in rural Devon, has amassed various items over the last three decades including everything from vintage car superchargers to enamel signs. The signs are in all shapes and sizes from the 1920s onwards, with items estimated to sell from £50 to £1,000.

“The market for automobilia and enamel signs is particularly strong at present which is why the owner invited me to Devon to advise on them and then decided to auction his collection,” commented auctioneer Richard Bromell. “The collection has been in his Devon barn for years, but it is time to let new owners enjoy them.”
