New collectors event at Marlborough College
A new collectors’ fair is to take place in the prestigious surroundings of one of the UK’s top public schools, Marlborough College.
Organised by Retro Ronnie Fairs, the company responsible for the popular toy and train fairs in Cirencester and Didcot, the event, Collectors at the College, will offer a broader range of collectables, from contemporary items, to vintage and retro and genuine antiques.
Ronnie Davies, one of the Fair’s organisers said, “We already organise nine toy and train fairs each year, but this will be significantly different. We won’t be turning our backs on our regular dealers, and the cars, trains and action models will still be a major part of the stock we hope to see at Marlborough, but this new event will be a genuine Collectors’ Fair. That means some antiques, militaria, coins, stamps, postcards, automobilia, sporting memorabilia and signage”
The new fair will take place on Saturday October 29th, with doors opening at 10:00 am.
Nigel Gresley, the Duchess of Cambridge, antiques expert Clive Stewart-Lockhart and
comedian Jack Whitehall.
Some aspects of Retro Ronnie’s regular fairs will be much in evidence, including the all-day
catering, supplied on this occasion by the College’s own staff, and the Valuation Roadshow
– an opportunity for visitors to have their collectables independently assessed. Entrance
will cost £2.50 (free for children under 16) and doors open at 10:00 am.
