Essex Auction House Offers Online Valuations

Essex auction house Sworders is to launch an online video valuation service starting on May 18.

The service will allow for informal ‘drop-in sessions’ that will be hosted on the online conferencing platform, Zoom. Users will need to sign up for a free account and can take part in the sessions every Thursday and Friday from 930am to 12pm.

The auction house’s specialists will be on hand to provide free and confidential valuations and advice. The sessions will be primed to give users the opportunity to discuss single items and small collections. Those with larger collections, full contents and probate valuations will be able to schedule an appointment outside of the new service’s normal hours.

A spokesperson for the auctioneer said, “While our offices may be closed we continue to deliver the same expert knowledge and friendly customer service that our clients know and trust and, as businesses up and down the country embrace new technologies, we, too, are set to prove that the antiques industry needn’t be old fashioned.”
