New antiques business makes a point
A collection of specially selected bespoke design pieces is now available online from the newly launched, Pointers Antiques. Set up by husband and wife team, Jo and Jono Pointer, the pair brings expert knowledge gained over 20 years, which has been used to specially select a broad range of decorative items, seating, tables, lighting, storage, arts and prints, gardenalia and architectural pieces.
Jo and Jono said that classic, timeless design, originality and sustainability are the cornerstones of the Pointers Antiques collection. Current items range from a pair of Alaska armchairs by Cattelan Italia, a model bust in plaster by Belgian artist Gustave van den Meersche, a rare Art Deco Egyptian Revival table and a bank of chemist drawers with original glass Latin labels and handles.
Jo and Jono have travelled to over 140 countries and harnessed their passion for other cultures to curate an eclectic mix of unique items.
Jono has been buying, collecting and dealing for most of his adult life and Jo brings her artistic flair and eye for detail. Specialising in original, unrestored items, predominantly from the 17th to the 20th century, customers can access pieces online from the British Isles, Europe and beyond.
When asked to select their favourite items from the current collection at pointersantiques.com, Jo said: “We’re sourcing items constantly, but my current favourite is an American made 1940’s rocking horse that has been reimagined with a new base turning into a wonderful decorative item.” Jono added: “I love anything from the Art Deco period and we have just procured a beautiful pair of 1920’s side chairs with dramatic dark blue velvet seat cushions and elm carved frames. As we have a global client list and work with a fabulous network of trusted couriers that provide door to door service, no matter how big or small the purchased items, we can deliver safely and securely”.
