Antiques and design expert opens new shop
BBC Antiques Roadshow expert, author and antiques dealer Mark Hill has announced that he is opening a new shop in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
His new retail space, located within the town’s The Pantiles Arcade, will sell a selection of modern designs, including midcentury modern glass, ceramics and various items from his own private collection.
The TV regular’s shop will open on December 16, and Mark will give an informal talk on both the Friday and Saturday evening, costing £20 per ticket, entitled Curves, Colours & Cool: An Introduction to Midcentury Modern, exploring the changing face of the antiques market and looking at such areas as furniture, glass, ceramics, metalware and lighting.
The popular antiques centre is situated within the Georgian arcade inside the Corn Exchange. Dealers include Art Deco specialist Jeroen Markies, Art Nouveau and Art Deco specialists Hickmet Fine Arts and fellow Antiques Roadshow expert Eric Knowles.
