Ones to watch in Derbyshire sale
Demand for vintage watches proved undiminished at Hansons‘ recent sale in Derbyshire, with prestigious names continuing to command high prices.
The highlight of the sale was a pristine Patek Philippe wristwatch. Crafted in 18ct white gold, the Nautilus watch bezel is set with diamonds totaling 0.77 carats. It was offered with all of the original packaging and paperwork, including a high-gloss macassar ebony presentation box. Discovered in a Staffordshire property, it sold to a bidder in the room for £14,000.
Elsewhere, a stylish circa 1999 Jaeger Le Coultre Art Deco design Reverso steel wristwatch, which was boxed with paperwork, flew past its £800 top estimate to bring £1,700.
A 1980’s Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, found in a Derby property, topped £1,900.
A boxed 1990’s gentlemen’s Rolex Cellini wristwatch took its top estimate at £2,000.
