Paddington station clock in exhibition

An original turret clock made for Paddington station in 1897 is among the highlights of two weekend selling exhibitions on the Suffolk Norfolk border.

The clock, made by John Walker of London and removed in the 1960s before being fully restored, is on sale at Olde Time Lifestyle Antique’s open weekends.

Olde Time Lifestyle Antiques was founded in 2014 and is the offshoot from Olde Time Clocks, which was established in 1993 and is a BADA and LAPADA member.

Owner Paul Nunn said, “We had so many requests to sell our furniture and other decorative items that we decided to do just that. We have a purpose-built retail space in a converted barn in the heart of rural East Anglia.”

The 200m-square showroom, in the village of Wacton, is nine miles from the cathedral city of Norwich.

As well as clocks the selling weekends, on July 28-29 and August 4-5, will offer everything from art deco, to the neo-classical as well as stylish Georgian furniture.

Paul continued: “We’ll show you that our antiques are remarkable for their adaptability and for the ease with which they fit into any environment, be it classical or modernist. They can be made to blend into their surroundings or serve as a highlight in their own right.”
